As part of NIA, DOE will assess the impact on consumers, including the cost savings over the lifecycle, as well as the simple payback period (PBP). DOE will employ the Government Regulatory Impact Model, with an adaptation for microwavable ovens, to calculate the industry's net present value (NPV).
Manufacturer impacts will be evaluated also and DOE will use a modified version of the Industry Cash Flow model, which has been adapted for this type of product to calculate the manufacturing NPV.
